Transforming Lives through Education. Helping our children to achieve their dreams! Give a Child the gift of education with a generous donation today.

Education has the power to change people’s lives. We believe education is necessary for societies and people in those societies to thrive. Education opens the door to prospect jobs, opportunities for advanced education and careers. This belief drives us to support education through tuition grants, scholarships for higher education, textbook and educational materials purchases, teacher/tutor salaries or incentive support and other aid.

If you share our belief, give generously so we can start and continue funding education for disadvantaged, poor and most backward children of Nepal.

The overall objective of Education Programme is to improve the educational status of poor children and adolescents. The specific objectives of the programme are to initiate the community to advocate for support and education of poor children/student, to increase the enrolment of students in school, to increase the access of poor children to education, to change the life condition of poor children through education and to empower the households of poor children economically. Finally this will contribute to achieve Sustainable development goal (SDG -3) target- Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning.

Geographical Coverage and Targeted Community of Education Programme:

Nepal is a landlocked country in South Asia and is bordered by China and India. It is located in the Himalayas and contains eight of the world's ten highest peaks. The government system is a federal parliamentary republic; the chief of state is the president, and the head of government is the prime minister. Nepal is a member of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). It is also the birthplace of Buddha.

Target area is Mahottary district, which is  among 77 district of Nepal mainly dwelt by Hindu (84%) and Muslim (14%), around 92 castes and ethnic groups of people live here. The major occupation of the people in this district is agriculture. This is considered to be one of the backwarded Terai districts. The literacy rate of this district is 46%, where women’s literacy rate is only 37% (UNRCHCO, 2013).

According to the DEO officials, the number of out of school children is significant in Mahottari. A recent study conducted by Society of Development Centre reports that 32,000 children (mostly girls, and children from Muslim, Dalit and marginalized communities) are out of school in Mahottari (Rastriya Samachar Samiti, 2016). School enrolment basic education (grade 1-8) is 73% girls and 76% boys. And secondary education (grade 9-10) is 33% girls and 37% boys. (Source: UN RCHCO, 2013).  This education program will help to contribute to bridge the gap of drop out rate in secondary level by providing access to quality education.

In the initial phase of our Education Programme implementation, we will start with two project activities - supporting needy students with educational materials and providing tuition classes & educational fee to ultra-poor, underprivileged, marginalized students.

1. Providing School Materials Support for underprivileged & ultra-poor students (From Initial Level Class to standard 10)

2. Support for Tuition classes (additional classes) in the community

a. Description:

This project will provide educational stuffs (uniform, school fees, books, sweater, notebooks, pen, pencil, stationery, etc.) to underprivileged poor students of Samshi Rural municipality-1, Mahaottary district, Provenience -2, Nepal.  So that they may be able to develop their educational standard. This project will help the marginalized children to get better opportunities to be educated and to contribute in the development of society. Many students who are underprivileged, marginalized and poorest of the poorer families cannot afford to pay their school fees and buy uniforms, bags, stationery etc. You can make a difference by supporting them for their educational stuffs.

Goal: Right to education of underprivileged & ultra-poor student

Objectives:

i. To encourage the students to go to school.

ii. To control the dropout of students.

Target Group: Students of Samshi Rural municipality-1, Mahottary district, Madesh pradesh, Nepal

Methodology: This project will be led by Pramodh Chaudhary, Proprietor - Happy Women Handicraft (who is also a registered Public Health Professional of Nepal, also involved in academic sector as an Assistant Professor.). Normally this project supports the Books, Copy, Pencil/Pen, School Bag, Sharpener, Eraser, Geometry Box, Uniform and other materialistic supports for students.

b. Challenge/Statement of the Problem:

Musahar is one of the so called small ethnic groups of Nepal. Musahar are those people who have been almost isolated and neglected by the government. Musahar are basically agricultural daily waged labour. They are secluded ethnic groups of Nepal and are inhabitants of Terai and inner Terai. Literacy rate of Musahar people is 43 percent (male 22.68% and female 19.38). The dropout rate of Musahar student is 34% and 55% .Musahar students used to escape from the school.(Occupation and Educational status of Mushar community,2017).

These group of students have to face all sorts of problems to get education. Due to the pathetic conditions of deprived families, their guardians are not able to afford their school spending because of which intelligent and ambitious students get miles away from the school education. In many rural areas schools of Nepal, many students cannot afford the stationery due to poverty and school hardly manage the stationary for them as there is no separate budget for it. Because of these reasons, many students either don’t go to school or drop the school.

c. Solution/Intervention

Distributing educational stuffs to underprivileged school students will help them to get equal opportunities for education. The project will help the poor students to be conscious towards education which will reduce the problem of school drop-out to some extent. As the parents will get help in getting educational stuffs, they will motivate their children to get school education and the children will gain confidence.

d. Long-Term Impact

Needy students will get educational support by receiving educational materials through project and they will also get better opportunities for higher education, ultimately the problem of school drop-out will end thus increase in the literacy rates and development of marginalized communities through education.

Project Name: Support for Tuition classes (additional classes) for underprivileged, marginalized & ultra-poor students in the community.

Tuition classes’ means additional coaching to the students whose family cannot support in doing homework and other educational activity in their home. Tuition centre will be open in the community. In one tuition centre 20-25 children can join classes where there will be one Teacher as a Facilitator. After school children can join Tuition centre free of cost. I have observation that, Family member are illiterate so that they are not able to help their children in their educational activity and children interest becomes low and thus increases dropout rate. And this vicious cycle repeated.

You can make a difference by supporting them for their additional classes, so that they can continue their studies. We will carefully select the beneficiaries after lot of field verification for their socio-economic status and ensure your donation reaches the needy students. The selection will be done by a team from the communities which will be mobilized to make an objective for selection of the poorest families in their locations. Beneficiaries will be poorest of the poor children and students.

Starting with the establishment of free tuition center and run free tuition classes, we will reach out needy students, spread across remote villages, Musahar community clusters of Samshi Rural municipality-1, Mahottary through life skills, value-based education, and healthcare-related activities. Socially deprived, ultra-poor children/students and their families are the target group of this project as education has to be imparted holistically. We believe, it is our solemn duty to educate marginalized, underprivileged students for the benefit of the society and country at large.
